Facing Real World Strategic and Marketing Challenges >>

 

Israeli tech companies are well known for having cutting edge technological products, but less well known for having strong strategy or marketing tactics. 

 

Projects is a 2-credit course that connects small groups of students from the Sofaer IMBA and the Hebrew MBA in Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Technology to Israeli tech companies for consulting projects that focus on strategic and marketing oriented challenges.   The ultimate objective of the course is to provide students with a practical experience and supportive learning environment and to provide partner companies true solutions to the strategic challenges they are facing.

 

Course Principles 

  • Learning will be done through practice.  Students are expected to execute practical concepts, models, methodologies, and marketing strategies
  • The primary role of the marketing function is define tools for creating consistent demand for products
  • Students will walk away understanding the importance of the connection, and the necessity for the proper coordination between marketing, sales, and business development functions. 

 

Course Structure 

It is estimated that students will invest about 6 hours of work per week for the duration of the 10-week course.

 

Session  Topics 
1
  • Presentation of the course requirements
  • Group formulation
  • Presentation of projects and their distribution between the groups
  • Presentation guiding course concepts

Between the first and second session students will meet the companies (some groups will be required to travel to their company)

  • Optimal marketing process
  • Lead generation and revenue marketing

  • Presentation of the main problems by students and their preliminary work plan
  • Discussion with staff about possible ways of dealing with the problems
4 - 6
  • Submission of an initial situation analysis and possible courses of action
  • Implementation of the project in consultation meetings and regular reports with the lecturer and teaching assistant

  • Detailed SWOT analysis, key business issues and guidelines for solving challenges 
8 & 9
  • Implementation of the project in consultation meetings and regular reports with the lecturer and teaching assistant
10
  • Presentation of final report draft
11 & 12
  • Implementation of the project in consultation meetings and regular reports with the lecturer and teaching assistant
13
