  • The challenge of constructing precise data from big data
  • The impact that huge data banks have on the business environment, for example, incentives for dialogue and compatibility between competitors
  • Techniques in which sophisticated algorithms can improve sales forecasting accuracy
  • The effect of real-time sales data visualization technologies on sales

To bolster its research breadth and capacity, the Center awards research grants and fellowships for doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, as well as support an annual visiting professorship for globally-renowned scholars.

Teaching and Executive Education – The Center promotes and supports the development of new academic courses for students with special interest in data management innovation. The Center also runs programs aimed at providing cutting-edge training to a wide spectrum of industry professionals through the School’s executive education branch (LAHAV).  The programs include general as well as company-specific courses focusing on specific problems and challenges pertaining to the use and potential abuse of big data and business analytics.

Dissemination: The Center shares its knowledge and insights among the academic community, business leaders, policymakers, private sector managers and the general public through a wide range of events including a weekly seminar, regular workshops, and a high-profile international conference.  The annual Datorama International Conference in Data Science in Business is envisioned to become Israel’s chief platform for dialogue and collaboration among the academic, industrial and governmental spheres.
