AACI- Jewish Federations of Canada- UIA Scholarship Fund

The Association of American and Canadians in Israel (AACI) and United Israel Appeal of Canada (UIAC) are offering a scholarship fund for Canadian citizens studying towards their Bachelor’s degrees in Israel. Each student is eligible to receive up to 3,000 NIS. New Olim (who made Aliyah within the past five years) are eligible to receive an additional 1,500 NIS.

For American Students-

 

The American Jewish League for Israel (AJLI)

This organization offers scholarships for a full year of study in Israel. One must be a US citizen to apply. There is no age restriction for this scholarship. For questions, contact Karl D. Zuckerman, the AJLI director via e-mail or at: +1 212-371-1583.

 

AZM Helyn B. Reich Scholarship

Helyn B. Reich Scholarships are awarded to a limited number of American students each year . The scholarship seeks to honor candidates who demonstrate past pro-Israel activity and a commitment to future involvement with Israel and the Jewish community. Financial need will also be considered, though more emphasis will be placed on achievements. Recipients of the Helyn B. Reich Scholarship will be expected to remain involved with the American Zionist Movement following their return to the United States. The scholarship is named in memory of the wife of a past AZM president whose daughter studied at Tel Aviv University and now lives in Israel.

Choquette Family Foundation Student Mobility Award

Value: $10,000 (10 awards available)

Eligibility: The intention of these awards is to support academically strong students who are interested in participating in an international experience but could not do so without financial assistance. Open to Canadian Citizens or Permanent residents. The international program must be at least eight months in duration and take place outside of Canada (excluding Quebec) or the United States.

Requirements: Must have an average of at least 70% on your best 24 credits in the Winter Session before your exchange (with no failed or incomplete courses). If you were on a co-op work term, you must have at least 70% on your best 12 credits in the other term.

Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver

Eligibility: Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Limited to residents of BC, including BC residents who may be temporarily studying outside of BC. Priority will be given to applicants making their first trip to Israel.

Award: Maximum grant available is $3,000 per applicant Applicants are eligible to receive one grant per 24 month period, and priority will be given to applicants who have not yet received a grant from the Federation.

Manitoba

 

The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba

Eligibility: For residents of Manitoba who are Jewish or are in an exclusively Jewish program. Based on academic achievement, involvement in the Jewish community and volunteer activity in the Jewish and/or general community.

Possible Award: Up to $2500

The Joel A. Weinstein Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: For Manitoba students attending a university, college or post-graduate program at an educational institution in Israel. Candidates must have a strong commitment to the community and volunteerism.

UBC Scholarship Go Global Award

Value: Up to $1,000 per term

Eligibility: All students nominated for exchange, study or research abroad will be automatically considered. A separate application is not required. You will be notified of your award after nomination to the program. Must have an average of at least 70% on your best 24 credits in the Winter Session before your exchange (with no failed or incomplete courses). If you were on a co-op work term, you must have at least 70% on your best 12 credits in the other term. Bernice and Gordon Brown Scholarship and Mitchell Karper Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility: Candidates must be permanent residents of Montreal who have demonstrated academic excellence and community involvement. Candidates will agree to return to Montreal to participate in the Jewish community.

Study Abroad Scholarship Program for Hispanic Students – The Government of Israel invites students of Hispanic American backgrounds to apply to a new scholarship aimed at bringing students to Israel to study at top universities. The scholarships are designed to expand studying abroad opportunities for full time Undergraduate and Graduate students.

This scholarship aligns with Israel’s mission to establish a cross-cultural bridge between Israelis and Americans of various backgrounds.

 

For Any Study Abroad Student-

 

Go Overseas Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all current or aspiring study abroad students and is awarded based on the creativity and analytical thinking displayed through a combination of writing, photos, and videos. The application deadline generally falls around mid-September.
