The GBS Process

GBS is a 2-credit point, project-based course consisting of two semesters (a full academic year). GBS participants spend 10-20 hours per week on their projects, taking part in team meetings and receiving guidance from their mentors, teaching assistants and project faculty. Projects are reviewed regularly by the Program's staff and mentors.

The consulting process provided by GBS teams consists of several stages:

  • Research: market analysis and segmentation based on primary and secondary research, meeting with industry experts, attendance at trade shows and professional meetings, proprietary data base searches, as well as interviews and surveys conducted vis-à-vis customers and industry leaders.
  • Strategy Design: drawing a launch/ penetration/ go to market or growth strategic plan.
  • Follow-up: bring-alive activities, including meetings with potential partners, customers and distributors.

The GBS process is structured so that teams meet several milestones at designated target dates: analysis, consulting proposal (including project scope, deliverables, methodology, milestones and timeframe), working plan. Two joint colloquiums are held within the course of the project (in January and May), in which team members from Israel and abroad convene to present their proposed plan to the corporation to which they are assigned, with the purpose of having it approve their recommendations and take over their implementation.
