Corporations must create shareholder value in order to grow and prosper in business. Many Multi-National Corporations engage in profit shifting strategies that, though legal, reduce the corporation’s effective income tax rate and thereby increase return on investment for their shareholders.

This lecture will review the concept of shareholder value and illustrate how corporations use income tax strategies to help increase their financial performance. In addition we will review the non-financial implications of such strategies.
